Light Painting

In this body of work I had to do light painting. This is done by having a long exposure and slow shutter speed between 5 to 30 seconds. By having a slow shutter speed the shutter is open for longer enabling the camera to capture more movement. This is usually done in low light so it can focus on the main source of light. In these images I wanted to show shadow, light and movement. I feel I show all of these well. The first image shows the shadow of the stair rail on the wall, the light emitted by a torch is the light in the image, and the movement is the movement of the torchlight as the photograph is taken using slow shutter speed. The second image is taken under similar conditions, however the movement of the torch light is in a circular motion.
